youProof Terms of Service

Updated: 23 October 2026 · Deutsch

1. Provider and agreement

youProof is operated by Franz Josef Drexler, sole proprietor, Silberbach 38, 4230 Pregarten, Austria. For support, complaints and legal notices, contact fj@drefrajo.dev or +43 681 20887501. Further details appear in our legal notice.

These terms govern the youProof service in the app and on the web. You expressly agree before creating or importing a profile. You must be at least 18 and also have reached the age of majority where you live if that age is higher. If acting for an organization, you must have authority to do so.

Apple’s Standard EULA separately applies to the iOS software where applicable in the App Store. These terms govern our service and do not replace that software licence. Mandatory rights and applicable store terms continue to apply.

2. The service

youProof provides digital business cards and profiles containing contact details, links and posts, with encrypted storage and sharing through QR codes or links. Free features and optional paid subscriptions are available. The app and purchase offer describe the features and any usage limits. You need a suitable device and internet connection; your provider may charge for connectivity.

Signatures, profile information and technical checks do not guarantee a person’s identity, trustworthiness or authority, or the accuracy of their content. youProof provides no financial, investment or identity guarantee. Independently check important information before relying on it. External links lead to services operated by others under their own terms.

3. Account, sharing and recovery

A technical account may be created automatically during setup. Protect your device, credentials and especially your recovery QR code. The recovery QR code gives access to your profile: do not share it as a business card or send it to support.

Profile links and sharing QR codes may contain decryption keys. Anyone who receives them, including through forwarding, can read, copy and pass on the accessible data. Choose what to share carefully. Later changes or deletion cannot recall copies already made. We may be unable to recover encrypted content if your access credentials are lost. Contact us promptly if you suspect misuse.

4. Your content and acceptable use

You keep your rights in your content. You grant us only the non-exclusive rights needed to store, technically process, transmit and deliver it to your recipients according to your settings. This permission is for operating the service, not selling your content or independently using it for advertising. It ends when the content is removed, except for limited further retention described in the privacy policy or required by law.

Share only content you are entitled to use and disclose. Respect others’ privacy, personality and intellectual property rights. Do not use the service for unlawful content, deception or impersonation, harassment, threats, hate or sexual exploitation, spam, malware, phishing, unauthorized access to others’ data, or attacks on security or availability. Do not bypass access controls or usage limits.

Report unlawful content or security issues to fj@drefrajo.dev. Where possible, identify the profile or link, explain the concern, provide information allowing us to assess it, and include a reply address. Do not send unnecessary private information about others. For encrypted content we may need a description or evidence because stored ciphertext alone does not allow us to assess the content.

5. Subscriptions, cancellation and refunds

You can use the free service without a subscription. Before you buy an optional subscription, the store displays the price, currency, billing period, recurring charge, any trial and automatic renewal conditions. The specific offer and purchase confirmation apply. Apple or Google handles store payments; we receive purchase status information to enable features.

Manage and cancel store subscriptions in your Apple or Google account’s subscription settings before the renewal deadline shown there. On ordinary cancellation, paid features generally remain available until the paid period ends. Deleting the app or your youProof account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account.

Statutory withdrawal/cancellation rights, refund rights and remedies for defective digital services are preserved. If you have a statutory 14-day withdrawal right, you may exercise it within that period by sending us an unambiguous statement with your purchase details or using the relevant store’s process. Store refund procedures do not restrict statutory claims against us. Agreeing to these terms alone neither requests early performance nor waives a withdrawal right. Any separate request or acknowledgement required by law would need to be obtained separately.

6. Availability, changes and responsibility

We operate the service with reasonable care. Maintenance, security measures and outages may affect availability. We provide security and functional updates required by law. Keep your app and operating system current and retain your own copies of important information. This does not reduce our legal obligations.

We may develop the service for valid reasons such as security, legal compliance or technical requirements. We will give advance notice of material adverse changes to paid services on a durable medium where required by law, including applicable termination and refund rights. We will announce changes to these terms with their substance and effective date. Where agreement is required, we will seek it; silence is not agreement. Statutory rights concerning changes remain available.

Statutory warranty and liability rules apply. In particular, we do not exclude or limit liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, personal injury or other liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or mandatory consumer rights. We do not additionally guarantee uninterrupted operation or the accuracy of others’ content.

7. Restrictions and ending the service

Where there are concrete indications of a violation or security risk, we may restrict affected content or features or suspend an account. Measures will be proportionate to severity, impact and repetition; where appropriate, we will warn you first and allow you to remedy the issue. Urgent risks or legal duties may require immediate action. We will explain the reasons and scope where legally permitted and without jeopardizing an investigation or others’ security. You may request review at our contact address and explain your position. Unjustified restrictions will be lifted.

You may stop using the service at any time and contact us to terminate and delete your account. The privacy policy explains data handling and legal retention duties. Save needed content first and cancel store subscriptions separately. We may terminate for a serious reason, including serious or repeated abuse. If we close the service in an orderly way, we will give reasonable advance notice and, where reasonably possible, allow you to save your content. Rights to refunds for paid services not provided remain intact.

8. Privacy and mandatory rights

Our privacy policy explains data processing. Agreement to these terms is not blanket consent to data processing.

Austrian law applies. If you are a consumer, this choice never deprives you of protection under mandatory laws of your habitual residence. Your mandatory consumer, privacy and other rights remain intact, including in the EEA, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada wherever applicable. Court jurisdiction and access to courts follow applicable law, including mandatory rights to bring proceedings where you live. There is no exclusive Austrian court requirement, mandatory arbitration or waiver of legally available class actions. You may contact us to resolve a complaint without giving up legal remedies.

These terms are available in German and English. Neither language version restricts mandatory rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the applicable law governs that issue and the remaining terms continue to apply where legally possible.
